The Kalabari stakeholders in the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State have agreed to purchase the gubernatorial primary nomination form for the Supervising Minister for Education, Chief (Barr.) Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike for what they call their “token contribution” to actualize his governorship ambition come 2015.
This was contained in a 7 point communique tagged, “Endorsement/Invitation”, issued at the end of its meeting last week. The group endorsed the federal minister as the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling PDP in Rivers State in 2015 election.
The communique which was signed by the chairman of the Publicity Committee, Engr. Okiye Evans, and a member of the committee, Damiete West, the group appealed to politicians in the area who have developed ambition to contest the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state to reconsider their ambition. And the group further urged them to exhibit a spirit of good sportsmen and “step down their ambition for a better and God’s time”.
The Kalabari PDP stakeholders who described Chief Wike as a true Kalabari man by marriage, declared that, “It is our resolve, to formally invite Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike to join the governorship race of Rivers State comes 2015. ###
