Why APC Must Crumble In Rivers State And Nigeria
The quest for power as shown by several individuals and leaders alike in the present Political dispensation has proven that man does no longer wait on God rather after his desired gains at his own time, without considering the electorate first, hence the numerous failures and perhaps disappointment.
Individuals who pilot the affairs of the Political Parties in Nigeria have allowed their private interests above the Political Parties they represent.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), a Political Party that came into existence through the merger of other parties is aimed at providing what it believed as the missing links which the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is lacking.
But a vivid accounts of present day occurrences in the opposition APC, reveal that the party rather than pursuing a collective interest, now has fallen apart from what they professed to be and chasing their individual goals at the expense of the party and those they are deceiving.
Little wonder, those with an eagle eyes are already pulling out of the party saying it has no future and direction.
At the National level, already the interim executive committee has started fighting and creating factions, saying that the tenure of the interim executive committee had since elapsed, therefore cannot continue.
That fight was not without a reason as it was perceived that the interim executive committee had perfected its secret deal to remain in office, and ensure that a Muslim presidential and vice-presidential candidates emerge at the upcoming convention.
Already, there has been problem in the party arising from the allegation that the interim executive is all occupied by the Muslim group, that is yet to be resolved.
In Rivers State chapter of the Party, the clamour for a riverine governor has been on even as certain groups are opposed to the purported Barr. Nyesom Wike’s guber ambition.
All hope is for the ruling PDP to zone its governorship to the riverine, while the APC is bent on another upland slot, preferably the Ogoni axis.
Ikwerres and Ogonis are all of the upland dichotomy, therefore if Barr. Wike of the Ikwerre extraction emerges from the PDP and anyone of ogoni extraction runs for the opposition APC, then there is no difference. It means that the riverine is absolutely robbed of its existence in the state.
While, the atmosphere is glaring that the ruling PDP may amidst all odds zone its guber position to the riverine, the APC is contemplating the stance of the Ogonis.
Where the APC considers an Ogoni candidate, the Rivers chapter may definitely collapsed, likewise the nomination of dual Muslims for presidency may no doubt sink the proud APC without rescue.
What is left now for the survival of APC is zoning its guber position to the riverine extraction of the state other than the Ogonis otherwise the doxology is being awaited .###
