A political gladiator and social crusader, Prince Tonye Princewill has constituted a 12 man exploratory committee to study his future political plan come 2015.
Princewill dropped the hint in a press statement made available to the media. The committee among other things is to consult and research on the viability of his candidacy for the 2015 governorship election.
The committee is made up of Elder Statesmen and women, technocrats and individuals who represent professionals, youths and other stakeholders.
In a statement signed by his Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity Wabiye Idoniboye-Obu stated that government should give the small and medium scale enterprises the enabling environment to employ greater percentage of the youths and not the way is been done in Nigeria.
Princewill said that his priority in government is to developed the four key sectors of government that will transform the life of the people, which include: transportation, housing, education and health as a pillar where social services should stand.
The outspoken politician maintained that the current problem in Rivers State is job creation which any government should prioritize.
The statement further pointed out that Princewill and his team have done a lot of listening, especially in the areas of unemployment, the need for empowerment, the absence of capital to set up small businesses among others.
Also, the business mogul, Princewill has discussed extensively with the women group most of whom are breadwinners in their homes and the need for the women to be represented in a male dominated political space, the disabled, orphans and all sectors of the society.
The Kalabari born Prince said that “politics is too important to be left to politicians” but through collective effort politicians must look for one another, to bring true democracy to bear in the state.
He regretted that many of those who want to govern Rivers State are jokers while calling on all to be serious.
On the committee, he stated that the 12 persons including men and women are saddled with the task of exploring the viability of his candidacy of running for the governor of Rivers Stte come 2015.
“The team will travel with the guber aspirant around the state to seek views and opinions of the people and seek ideas to move the state forward,” he said.
He believes that politics is the surest way to change hence he needs the support of the people when the time comes.
It would be recalled that in 2007 Prince Tonye Princewill was a defunct Action Congress (AC) candidate to wrestle power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He however, withdrew his suit when the Supreme Court said Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi should be sworn in as governor, since then he has been in private business and assisting the less privilege in the society. ###
