Two Rivers State sponsored teams will clash in a local Derby in the city of Port Harcourt at Sharks Stadium.
Sharks will be hosting sister club Dolphins in what Port Harcourt soccer fans tagged “epic tie” in a week 5 Nigeria Glo Professional Football League, it will indeed be a match of interest as both teams have their supporters across the city of Port Harcourt, while the Rivers State football Association appealed to both teams fans, the supporters of both teams have said they will maintain a crisis free atmosphere during and after the match.
Speaking to The Newswriter Sports Desk, a sport promoter and marketer, Leon Ukandu, the Director of Total Sports, a sports equipment outfit based in Port Harcourt, said, both teams have similar pattern of play while predicting that the most prepared side will win Friday’s encounter.
However, he said, Sharks being the host might have slight advantage over Dolphins as they have not been playing on Sharks pitch as Sharks is already familiar to her pitch.
Dolphins lost to Sharks at liberation stadium last year’s federation Association cup. Many soccer fans are of the opinion that after watching both sides, they opted to give victory to Sharks, according to them, Sharks is a scoring side while Dolphins have problem with scoring their goal bound chances.
Even this, Leon Ukandu said, football being what it is, the match may be a draw or better still, the lucky player with a good goal scoring chance might score a goal to make his side the victor of either side. ###
