If information reaching The Newswriter Political Desk is anything to go by, then there is palpable fears that the camp of Rivers Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru may clip the All Progressives Congress (APC) upcoming Wards and Local Government Congresses in the area following his dogged preparations for the exercise next week.
Indications are that the Andoni Council Boss, Sir (Hon.) Orom Nte Ereforokuma is now on the cross road as the camp of the deputy governor swells and very much ready for the party exercise.
It was learnt that, the chairman had pleaded with the camp of the deputy governor for an harmonization and team work through the Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, but the plea was however, turned down, adding that, his camp is ready for the field exercise.
Meanwhile, the insider source had revealed that some members of the chairman’s camp allegedly loyal to Chief Davies Ikanya, State Acting Chairman of APC are defecting to the deputy governor’s camp.
The source disclosed further that the grievances of the decampees were premised on the fact that the council boss did not consider them on his new cabinet appointment.
It would be recalled that the council boss, Ereforokuma and Ikanya have been on a divide against the deputy governor.
The Newswriter source as at the time of going to press revealed that there is fear in the LGA as Ikuru seem to have captured the who is who in APC in the LGA even as there was pre-victory jubilation in the area as at Wednesday afternoon just after a meeting of cross section of Ikuru’s supporters in the LG headquarters, Ngo.
