The Leadership of Obio/Akpor Redemption Forum (ORE), a socio-political organization said unless drastic measure is taken against the trend there will be crack in the leadership of All Progressives Congress APC in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The group dropped the hint in a one page document made available to journalists shortly after its inaugural meeting last Saturday. According to the Chairman of the Forum, Chief Solomon Chuku (JP) and Chief (Bar) G. Agbaraosimini, the Chairman, Elders’ Committee OBALGA, the Organization stated that if drastic measure is not taken against it what they called the current self- centred and sole- administrator type of leadership in Obio/Akpor by few individual APC may balkanize.
The Forum therefore charged the good people of Obio/Akpor LGA to keep unshakable faith in His Excellency Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as Obio/Akpor Redemption Forum (ORF) as the only credible platform that will selflessly bring about the desire positive change in the LGA. The statement also called on the good people of Obio/Akpor to rise above individualism and move to the era of collective decision where the people must redeem and salvage the local government from bad leadership.
The statement further revealed that the ORF is a child of necessity because of the rejection by the teeming supporters of Governor Amaechi in Obio/Akpor LGA which does not go down well with those who appreciate the good works Governor has done in the area.
The ORF had earlier pledged its unalloyed support and loyalty to the Governor while describing him as a dependable leader for his developmental strides and massive infrastructural projects in all the nooks and canines of the state.
The group said there is an urgent need and strong desire to have a people oriented, all inclusive and a collective platform to fully mobilize support for the Governor and to ensure total victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obio/Akpor LGA, which is far better than some individuals who are personally working against the collective interest of the people.
In a related development, the Obio/Akpor Redemption Forum (ORF) has condemned the ploy and the attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state by stage- managing and the sponsoring the kidnap of its own members but turn around to accuse other people as a political falsehood and deceit which is capable of engineering renew violence and insecurity in the state, while calling on the good people of Rivers State to disregard such statement that do not have any single truth.
The group used the medium to condole the people of Ogbogoro in Akpor kingdom over the untimely and shocking death of Mr. Rejoice Wali, the secretary of APC in Obio/Akpor and prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. ###
