Alleged N4.5m fraud: Court Exonerates Minama Monarch

A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State has discharged the Amanyanabo of Minama Community in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, HRH King Iboroma Talbot Pokubo, Ibiamaye-Loku XII from allegation of misappropriating four million, five hundred thousand naira (N4.5m), money meant for the development of the community.

The Monarch alongside with one Chief Sidney Mpakaboari George was arraigned in a Charge No PMC/603C/ 2012 on the 3rd day of March, 2012 before His worship, Chief Magistrate Israel Agbesor.

Delivering a judgment last Wednesday that lasted for over one and half hours, the presiding Chief Magistrate, Agbesor said that the claimants were unable to substantiate their claims. The Chief Magistrate pointed out that all the claims and the arguments by the claimants and presented before him lack evidence. The Chief Magistrate thereby discharged the case accordingly.

In a related development the chiefs, elders, women, youths and the opinion leaders of the Minama community have applauded the judgment delivered by Chief Magistrate Israel Agbesor, saying that it would suppress and silence all negative forces working against the progress of the community.

They called on the people who are opposing the rulership of the Amanyanabo to sheathe their swords and join hands with the monarch to work towards the development of the community.

They further expressed optimism that the last Wednesday’s landmark judgment delivered by His worship, Chief Magistrate Agbesor will usher in the needed cooperation and unity among the people of the community. ###
