I Am An “Igbo Man” – Asari

The      President of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force NDPF and freedom fighter, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, has assured the Igbos of an unflinching support from the Niger Delta People, when the time comes,  adding that he has an Igbo blood running through his veins.

Dokubo who made the disclosure on Info 92.3 FM Radio live programme, Hard Fact, commended the Igbos for their total support to President Goodluck Jonathan, adding that Mr. President has also remembered the Igbos in his government by appointing an Igbo son as Chief of Army Staff, amongst others, a position he said has never been attained by any Igbo man since 1970.

Alhaji Dokubo who affirmed of networking with Mr. Ralph Uwazuruike, President, Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of  Biafra MASSOB and people of like minds across the nation, stated that they are networking to ensure that the oppressed people stood up to demand for their  rights in the country.

The freedom fighter who recalled the support given to late Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu by his group when he once visited Port Harcourt and               subsequently Bayelsa State, despite all odds said it was a reflection of the love they have for the Igbos.

He stated further that his support for President Jonathan was borne-out of his passion for carrying along the oppressed people around the country. Dokubo however, disagreed with Mr. President as regards the indivisibility of Nigeria, saying that Mr. President has no right to decide on the matter, even though he is the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He maintained that the divisible and indivisibility of Nigeria remains in the hands of the people of Nigeria and accused the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi of trying to take the people of Niger Delta back to Babylon, which he said they have left long ago and will resist whatever that would drag them back to that dark era, he added.
