A Non Governmental Organization known as the Campaign for Peace and Justice in Nigeria (CPJN) has backed the planned National Conference. The organization also called on all well meaning Nigerians to participate and contribute to its success.
The National co-ordinator of the group, Barr. P.C. A. Ikalaso who made the call at a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday, pleaded with those who are against the confab to have a rethink by embracing the opportunity to dialogue in order to correct things that will bring about sustainable development in the country.
Barr. Ikalaso further appealed to the members of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram to stop the senseless killing of innocent Nigerians and destruction of properties in the northern part of the country.
The group said that whatever their grievances, do not call for shedding of innocent blood and called on religious leaders to preach against the barbaric act.
He had earlier thanked Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his giant strides especially that of the construction of roads in the D/line axis of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
Barr. Ikalaso appealed to the governor to do the same to Eliparanwo, Iwofe and Trans-Kalabari Link roads before the raining season begins. ###
