The Citizenship and Leadership Centres, Abuja, Administrative arm of Man O’ War Nigeria recently appointed interim National officers to oversee the activities of Man O’ War after the former National officers tenure expired.
Rev. Amb. Kriss Natty Riss, former Commander, Man O’ War, Rivers State Command was appointed as the acting zonal Commander, South-South Command.
To this end, the newly appointed acting South South Zonal Commander used the opportunity to welcome the newly appointed Police Commissioner to Rivers State, Mr. Johnson of the Special Fraud Unit.
Rev. Rissi also commended the Police Commissioner for visiting Governor Chibuike Amaechi and the acting Minister of Education, Barr. Nyesom Wike, describing his action as a welcome development that will usher in peace into the state.
“In recent time Rivers State has witnessed series of political tribes and violence but we believe that the appointment of Mr. Ogunshakin will bring an end to this ugly situation”.
He also advised him not to be partisan and to discharge his duty professionally considering the importance of Rivers State to the overall economic development of Nigeria.
Commander Rissi also added that Man O’ War Rivers State Command is preparing to officially visit the Commissioner of Police at his office intending partnering with the police to combat crimes in the state. “Man O War members are recruited in every LGA in Rivers State and they are indigenes of these areas therefore they have better knowledge of the people and environment making it easier to fight crimes.
Besides, Man O’ War has the best training centre in Nigeria, that is the citizenship and leadership centre, Abuja. Since 1951 the para-military was established, it has trained men and women with great skills and capacity to support the police and the military to combat most of the crimes and terrorism ravaging the country but it is unfortunate that they are under utilized,” Rev Rissi said.
The South-South commander urged the Federal Government to specify the job of Man O’ War Nigeria to make the organization autonomous so that it could fully contribute to National security.
Also Commander Rissi congratulated Josph Mbu, the immediate past Police Commissioner, Rivers State for reducing crimes in the state, confirming that he was a core professional who discharged his duties to the best of his ability. He, therefore, wished him success in his future endeavours.
He concluded by advising Man O’ War to always maintain discipline and avoid anything that will bring down the name of the organization, adding that they should continue to remain focused. ###
