Corrigendum

In an opinion written by Chief Y. O. C. Georgewill, entitled “A 15 Point Part One State of the Nation and Rivers State,” and published in our last edition of February 13 – 19, 2014, Vol. 5 No. 6 in page 6, it was stated that Chief David Briggs was dropped as a Commissioner by ex-Governor Peter Odili, after he has been warned by the former Bishop of Niger Delta Diocese Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Gabriel Pepple at a thanksgiving service in St. Cyprian Church, Hospital Road, Port Harcourt in 2006 to get rid of all “killers” in his administration.

We have come to find out on investigation that the information stated in the said opinion was not true. Chief David Briggs was dropped in Dr. Peter Odili’s administration in the year 2004, and in 2005, Rt. Rev. Bishop Gabriel Pepple conferred the prestigious Knight of St. Christopher (KSC) on him. Currently Chief David Briggs is the Chairman of Kalabari Central Archdeaconry Council of Knights.

We sincerely apologize, the embarrassment the said publication might have caused the respected Kalabari Chief.
