The Nyenwe-Ali Akpor kingdom, HRM Eze A.A. Orlu Oriebe has declared that there is no position known as Prime Minister in the tradition of Akpor Kingdom.
Speaking to newsmen at his Palace at Ozuoba Community in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Wednesday, the paramount ruler faulted one Chief Robinson Mbata for parading himself as a Prime Minister of Akpor kingdom. “Who made him a Prime Minister in Akpor kingdom? Infact he is on suspension. The Akpor Council of Chiefs has already suspended him,” Eze Orlu Oriebe said
The Paramount ruler recalled how one Pius Orlu and Robinson Mbata connived to share land belonging to the royal family without his consent. He described Pius Orlu as a “trouble maker” and someone who lacks respect for a constituted authority.
Eze Orlu Oriebe said that he was properly installed as Nyenwe Ali Akpor kingdom, saying that, “I know the problem of Pius, he wanted to become the king of Akpor kingdom.
But individuals do not choose the Nyenwe Ali Akpor. I have been by the entire community and the gods of the land”.
The traditional ruler who was also reacting to an allegation that he (Eze Orlu-Oriebe) opposed to the sharing of the family land in the community.
“Nobody made Pius Orlu the chairman of Land Sharing Committee in Rumuodobo Royal Family. He is just impersonating and trying to cause problem” the paramount ruler asserted.
The monarch had earlier denied of planning to build a palace for himself, stating that it was a collective decision of the entire Akpor kingdom to construct a palace, so that whosoever emerges as Nyenwe Ali Akpor will live there. That proposed palace is not for an individual monarch”.
He advised the people to always tread the path of peace and dialogue and not to do anything that will bring problem into the kingdom. ###
