Rivers: Royal Fathers Caution Against Removal of CP

Royal fathers in Rivers State have cautioned the state and federal governments against transfer of the State Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu.

“The CP’s removal will throw the state into chaos and anarchy”, Amb. Chief Gaskin Sobresuaipiri, Public Relations Officers (PRO) of the Royal Fathers in the Niger Delta, who spoke in his Port Harcourt residence on behalf of the Royal fathers, said  “Mbu’s administration is purely British” and that was why the state capital and its environs have witnessed apparent peace since he assumed duty.

Chief Sobrasuaipiri commended the Inspector General of Police for posting Mbu to Rivers State.

“They are combat ready and no more in dirty uniforms he stated, saying that “When you see a policeman in Rivers State now, he or she looks like an international police officer”.

He warned that if Police Commissioner Mbu is removed there would be crisis all over the state, stressing that Mbu should be left to do his work. Chief Gaskin stated that those who are seeking for his transfer are those who want to dictate for him and politicize police duty in the state. “I am sorry for those who want to sell their fatherland,” he said.

Chief Sobrasuaipiri, an ambassador for peace and a renowned Ijaw statesman commended the Rivers CP, Joseph Mbu for his efficiency and effectiveness in tackling crime by providing adequate security services.

He enjoined the Police Service Commission to be mindful of senseless calls by those who do not mean well for the security and safety of the people in Rivers State. ###
