Rivers East Mobile Clinic Takes Off, As Sen Sekibo Donates Buses

 SEKIBO BUSESA 32- seater Coaster bus to be remodeled into a mobile clinic has been procured to serve the eight Local Government Areas of the Rivers East Senatorial District.

The coaster bus and thirteen 18-seater Toyota Hiace buses were presented over the weekend to various groups including The Nigeria Red Cross Society, Port Harcourt Division by the Senator representing the district, Senator Thompson George Sekibo.

Sen. Senator said the donation was in furtherance of his annual economic empowerment and poverty alleviation program, noting that the well being of his constituents was of utmost importance to him, which was why he is determined to ameliorate their difficulties in any way he could.

He stated that the bus project was carried out in partnership with the National Poverty Eradication Program(NAPEP) and thanked the agency for its continued support towards the success and sustenance of his programmes for his constituents.

The Senator noted that he had in the past contributed to the well-being of his constituents through the presentation of computers to secondary schools, provision of health care, including surgery for hernia, glaucoma etc, bursary to brilliant orphan undergraduate students and post graduate scholarships to scores of students in addition to the widow’s micro-credit scheme.

He announced that the annual free health care program has come to stay and expressed the hope that the people will take advantage of the benefits it affords.

In her address, a representative of NAPEP, Mrs. Olayinka Adeniran, commended the Senator for his commitment to touch the lives of the people positively and expressed the hope that other politicians would emulate him.

In his response on behalf of the recipients, the Chairman of Nigeria Red Cross Society Port Harcourt Division, Mr. David West Egede, expressed gratitude to the Senator whom he described as a humanitarian for his gesture stating that the bus which is one of their major challenges will enable them do their work better.
