Amakiri Polo community; a sub-community of Borikiri (Olomu-Ogbogbo-Ama) has formerly launched its 120 seaters capacity town hall building and bore-hole water projects.
The Newswriter gathered that the town hall which has been under construction several years ago has now been completed and fully equipped with facilities, electricity by Hon. (Comr) Iriso-Owubo Opekerebia led executive council, with support from elders, women and youths.
The community which lacks social infrastructure in terms of electricity, water and modern community town hall can now boast of the aforesaid infrastructure.
Also launched was 35ft locally constructed road made with Chicoco and Mangrove sticks.
The chairman explained that he saw the need of the said infrastructure and so decided to give a face-lift to the town hall, even when certain persons in the community tried to scuttle his exco’s effort.
Hon. Iriso explained that the Manila represents financial wealth, the fish symbolizes the occupation of the inhabitants and the matchets for clearing of mangrove forest for acquisition of virgin land (Chicoco).
He however, assured members of Amakiri Polo (Egbema close) water front community that he and his exco will strive hard to interlock the frontage of the town hall so that the open space would be good enough for re-creational activities and to ensure proper drainage system around the town hall.
Unveiling the borehole pumps and the town hall, the former chairman, Elder Nelson Jeremiah revealed that the construction of the town hall started in his administration. He however, appreciated the present exco and give glory to God. ###
