Asalga Councilor Takes Stock

A councilor representing the people of ward 5 in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area Legislative Assembly, Hon. Sukubo Omualapuye Mercy said that he has started fulfilling his electioneering promises.

The councilor who made this known, while briefing newsmen in Buguma, headquarters of the council said that within nine (9) months in office, he has done well. The local parliamentarian alleged that he has spent over N1m to embark on laudable projects within and outside his ward.

The councilor said that as soon as he stepped into office March 21st, 2013 after a bye-election in appreciation he donated 50 chairs to Karma compound and also renovated the pier latrine in the Warmate’s compound.

Hon. Sukubo said that he also contributed to the repair of a transformer that is supplying power to Warmate, Ikpo, Ikiri, and Otaji compounds. He maintained that of recent he has donated executive chairs to both Ikiri and Warmate compounds to chiefs to feel more comfortable during their meeting. According to him, in December 2013, he distributed some food items to the members of the ward as Christmas gifts.

The councilor further told newsmen that he has helped some youths in his ward to enroll in skills acquisition training in order to acquire knowledge in computer appreciation, wielding and other vocations.

He continued by saying that he has also provided cash to some widows in the area.

His plan for 2014, the councilor promised to purchase WASC and JAMB forms for some persons, adding that the youths of the ward would also feel the positive impact of his representation in the Asalga Legislative Assembly.

He solicited for the support of the members of the ward to give them proper representation and also to initiate bills that will put smiles on the faces of the Asalgans. ####
