1st of January 2014, will always be remembered by the people of Eliowhani in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State, as the paramount ruler of the kingdom, HRH Eze G.U.A. Omachi, Owhani the 7th of Eliowhani Community, Council of Chiefs and the community people gathered to celebrate and appreciate God for adding another year in the reign of Eze Omachi.
The event was made more colourful when Chief & Lolo Alex Ikeanyionwu, Ogbuga 1 of Eliowhani Community, who was accompanied by friends and a cultural group from Ogidi, Anambra State, were welcomed at the venue of the event by the Eze and other council of Chiefs and the subsequent road walk from the venue to the home of Chief Engr. Alex Ikeanyionwu, on invitation to the kingdom, after his conferment as the Ogbuga 1 of Eliowhani Community in April 2013, by HRH Eze G.U.A. Omachi.
Speaking with our Correspondent, Eze Omachi, described the event as an opportunity to thank God for adding another year to his reign as the paramount ruler and Eze Nye Eli Eliowhani and Owhani 7th of the Royal Kingdom. He stated that the day provided an ample opportunity for the entire people to honour the invitation of Chief Ikeanyionwu, in appreciation of the honour done to him by the people of Eliowhani.
Owhani the 7th, noted that the conferment of a chieftaincy title on Chief Engr. Alex was the community’s way of saying thank you to Chief Ogbuga, for the good things he has done for the people of Eliowhani, which include: provision of potable water, electricity transformer, construction of road and empowerment of community youths, among others.
Eze Omachi described 2014 as a peculiar year of the Lord; a year he said will provide job opportunities for the youths of Eliowhani as assured him by the companies operating in the community. He added that 2014 will be a year of safe delivery to the women and growth of Eliowhani, while charging the youths to remain violent free and ensure that they cast their votes to a credible person that will always carry them along, as election draws closer.
In the same vein, Chief Hon. Eugene Mans Elewa, Enwa 1 of Eliowhani, who shared same view with the Royal Highness, Eze Omachi on the event, described Chief Engr. Ikeanyionwu as a indigene of the community, looking at what he has done for their people, particularly the construction that is on-going in Chief Ogbuga’s street, adding that his chieftaincy title was an honour well deserved.
Elewa, thanked the people of Eliowhani for taking the path of truth and urged the youths to continue in the line of truth and never to do anything that will not glorify the name of God.
In his response, Chief Engr. Alex IKeanyionwu, Ogbua 1 of Eliowhani Community, stated that 2014 will be a good year for the people of Eliowhani and Eze G.U.A. Omachi. He prayed that the people of Eliowhani, particularly the youths, who are desirous of peace, shall continue to experience peace and have it reigned in their community.
Chief Ogbuga, used the medium to call on everyone to uses his position to do the much they could, to help humanity, stating that he accepted the title because of the love and respect that the youths have for him as a man of peace.
He admitted that the honour will spur him to do more and assured the people of Eliowhani that his gate will ever remain open for all and sundry in the community. While Mr. Vincent Ike Okerulu, president of Ogidi Union, Port Harcourt branch, who described his kinsman, Chief Alex as a man of international repute, commended the people of Eliowhani for the honour done to his brother, adding that the Ikwerres are not known as title sellers.
Expressing his joy, Chief Collins Benjamin Elewa, Eku-Koko 1 of Eliowhani Kingdom, said he was happy to witness the successful hosting of Eliowhani people as an expression of his gratitude to the people on the honour done him.
Chief Dan Thompson Eze Udo 1 of Eliowhani, Pastor Augustine Elewa, General Overseer of God’s Own Heritage Church, Igwe Christian Emeka and Engr. Mike U. Okakpu lauded Eliowhani kingdom for their choice of Chief Ogbuga and his philanthropic contribution in Eliowhani Community.###
