The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) says it would soon roll out its empowerment programme for the youths of Rivers State.
The Director of Finance and Administration of the Commission, Dr. Henry Ogiri made this known while speaking at the inauguration of LGA and Ward officers of the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) at Degema on Sunday. He charged the youths of the State to always tread the path of peace and dialogue. Dr. Ogiri maintained that NDDC would continue to initiate programmes that will better the lives of the Niger Deltans.
He further called on the people of the area to give all their support to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to succeed in 2015 general election.
In his speech, the chairman of Rivers PDP, Hon. Felix Obuah said that what President Goodluck Jonathan has done within two (2) years of his administration has surpassed the performances of all his predecessors. He blasted Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his effort to destroy the state. Obuah observed that the Governor is only working for his personal selfish interest and that he is full of inordinate ambition. He described Governor Amaechi as a “failed politician”. ####
