RIVLEAF Etche/Omuma Condemns Fire Incidents At Okehi High Court

Members of the Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF) Etche and Omuma Chapters have condemned the recent fire out-break at the Okechi High Court.

The group made the remark when some supporters of Governor Chibuike Amaechi paid a solidarity visit to the leader of RIVLEAF in Etche Ethnic Nationality, Mr. Eugene Nwauzi over the brutality by police during the inauguration of RIVLEAF Etche Ward coordinators recently.

Earlier, the Leader of RIVLEAF in the area, Mr. Nwauzi Commended the people for the steadfastness and  interest in the support of the Governor of Rivers State noting that they are leaders in their different capacities.

“It is imperative for them to always be on the side of good over evil”, he said.

Mr. Nwauzi use the medium to condemn the fire incident at Okechi High Court.

He stated that Etche Ethnic Nationality will not rest on its oars to support Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi because of the various projects in Etche land.

It would be recalled that during the inauguration of RIVLEAF ward coordinators some policemen threw teargas in Afara Etche to dispel RIVLEAF members from inauguration. The team of police officers said they were acting on instruction from above not to allow any group using the Afara town hall as they were informed other group will use the same venue however the inauguration was moved to another venue.

During the inauguration the Vice President RIVLEAF High Chief Wilson lyalla charged the ward coordinators to engage in only activities that will promote peace in the area.

Bar. lyalla reminded them that as leaders they should show the leadership style at all times and as ward coordinators they should bring result. They should go house to house and campaign as foot-soldiers and the need to join APC without fear or favour.

The Vice President said the Police is a friend of all but was shocked by the action of the police when they started shooting teargas to disrupts the event.

One of the women leaders, Mrs. Comfort Wieke who said they will support Governor Amaechi because of the roads, health centers and the primary and secondary schools in the area.

The event witnessed a lot of decampees from the People Democratic Party (PDP). According to the spokes man of the group, Mr. Kelvin Choma, said the youths decamped to the new party APC because of the leadership qualities of the Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi. In the separate interviews the RIVLEAF foundation Chairman Mr. Justice Njoku and Mr. Marshall lsreal thanked the people of Etche for their total support and charged them to maintain the tempo. Mr. Njoku told journalists that those who refused to see the projects initiated by the governor in Etche will remain blind as those projects can speak for itself.

Some of the groups who visited them are Prime Movers, Save Etche Project and some members of Save Rivers in Etche Ethnic Nationality.
