Keshi Should Be Allowed To Concentrate On World Cup Eagles – Prof. Braide

A University don and ardent football enthusiast, Prof. Solomon Braide of Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to allow Coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi to concentrate on the World Cup bound Super Eagles Job, rather than distracting him with the job of handling the home based Super Eagles that are South Africa bound for the CHAN Competition

According to the one time Goldashe International Football Club of Port Harcourt President, saddling Keshi with the handling of the home based Eagles would only distract him from concentrating on the big one, the World Cup, come June, 2014 in Brazil.

The same opinion was expressed by living legend of the Green Eagles, Chief Segun Odegbaemi, saying Keshi should be better of with the World Cup bound Super Eagles job than home based Eagles preparation job to South Africa. He added that even if Keshi did not complaint, it will consume his time in focusing on the World Cup Super Eagles assignment.

The soft spoken Prof. Braide in his opinion said Keshi has his hands full as the homes based Eagles team is even depleted as prominent players that ought to make that squad are supposedly absent courtesy of their going for greener pasture with foreign clubs abroad.

He said the like of Sunday Mba has become integral part of that team as he had played under Keshi and had been a regular hence forming a perfect blend with others to constitute a formidable squad.

Though he said he has confident in Keshi’s ability, the homes based Eagles may not have all the experience and confident to blend playing at such stage in the chan competition.

He said the inclusion of Sunday Mba and the likes of run away Kelechi Iheanacho would have given the home based Eagles edge over other African  teams that are competing in the CHAN competition in South Africa.

He expressed regret why the Nigeria Football federation do not see reasons to let Keshi concentrate on the World Cup bound Eagles alone and let another coach handle the homes based Eagles for the CHAN competition. ###
