The Public Relation Officer of the Rivers State Baseball/Softball Association, Mrs. Vicky Sodipo has disclosed to The Newswriter sports desk that her association intention is to make the game of baseball/softball popular in Nigeria.
In an exclusive chat with The Newswriter sports, the soft spoken public relation officer of the Rivers State baseball/softball Association said, the game of Baseball/Softball is more rewarding in terms of finance than soccer, only that soccer has been so welcome by the youths and the society because of the attention given to it by Nigerians.
According to her, the game is one of the career sustaining sports in the developed countries as sponsors are in their numbers to throw the sport to the people.
She hinted that here in Rivers State, the Association has a formidable team to see that the sport is giving to every Tom and Dick to have a feel of how benefiting the sport is to the health of every living soul.
She therefore urges the youths to embrace the sport through active participation. To this effect, schools were invited to witness the just concluded national baseball/softball league at Isaac Boro Park, with the view of the schools studying the sport for active participation in the near future. ###
