Barr. Reginald Ukwuoma, the chairman of Etche Local Government of Rivers State, has said that his philosophy in governance is to see the happiness of the greatest number of Etche people, promising to leave a legacy that will provide an opportunity for the people to assess and question whoever takes over from him at the end of his tenure, if he fails to improve more on what he (Ukwuoma) will be leaving on ground for the people.
Ukwuoma, who made the disclosure at the recent lunch of a book titled “Eminent Persons in Rivers State”, published by the Rivers State News Paper Corporation, publishers of the Tide Newspaper, adding that he was at the event to appreciate and support the Tide Newspaper for their recent innovations in colourful printing and as a widely read newspaper.
He described copying other people’s works or chronicling other people’s job as enormous task, compared to what Tide has done, in bring “eminent persons” in the state from their different fields of endeavors and having contributed to the development of the state in one way or the other, in a compendium.
Responding on his developmental strides in Etche LGA, Ukwuoma assured of completing all the projects that are initiated by his administration, adding that he will complete the multimillion market project, which in terms of commerce, comprised 8 upstairs, 6 stores, fire service, health centre, police post among others.
The council boss, pointed out that he will look at next year’s budget to see how he could provide portable water for some communities in Etche LGA, added to the electricity project he has already provided, transportation and security.
Ukwuoma further said “once I am able to provide portable water for some communities in Etche, coupled with what I have done in electricity, transportation and security, I will just go home and say, I came, I saw and I conquered”, he noted.
