Ex-Rivers LGSC Chairman Made NDDC List

Former chairman of the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, RSLGSC, and Senatorial Aspirant in the 2011 election for the Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Chief Ephraim Sobere Etete-Owoh has been named among those to pilot the activities of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC following the expiration and dissolution of the former Governing Board in September 13th, 2013.

Senator Bassey Ewa Henshaw and Barr. Bassey Dan-Abia were nominated as chairman and Managing Director respectively by the President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The names of the nominees were contained in a letter President Jonathan sent to the Senate for consideration and confirmation.

Also forwarded to the Senate was the name of former Governor of Edo State, Prof. Osarliemen Osunbor to the Senate as chairman, Nigerian Law Reform Commission.

Ewa-Hensaw was nominated to represent Cross River in the NDDC, while Dan Abia was listed to represent Akwa Ibom.

Others who made the list were Itotenan Henry Ogiri (ED Finance and Administration) Rivers, Engr. Tuoyo Omatsulu (ED Projects) Delta, Ball Turofade Oyarede (Bayelsa), Etim Inyang Jnr (Akwa Ibom), Addah Paul Andeshi (Cross Rivers) and Sir. Tom Amioku (Delta).

Also nominated as representatives in the Commission were Samuel Okezie Nwogu (Abia), Uchegbu Chidiebere Kyrian (Imo), Maj-Gen. Suleiman B. Said (North Central), Alh. Adulmaik Mahmud (North East), Enikuonehin B. G. Olorungbonju (Ondo) and Mark ward.

President Jonathan remarked that subsequent to the dissolution of the Governing Board of the Commission on September 13, 2013, nomination for its reconstitution have been complied in accordance with section 2 (1) of the NDDC Act.

The President further sent for consideration and confirmation the names of Mr. Kefas Magaji (north east), P.C Okorie (South East) and Mrs. Zainab Ibrahim (North Central) as commissioners for the Nigerian Law Reform commission. ###
