A socio-political cum pressure group in the Andoni Local Government Area, Obolo Youth Ambassadors, OYA has described as untrue, irresponsible and unfortunate the claims by a faceless individual who posited that the penultimate home visit of Senator Magnus Ngei Abe on a thank you mission was rather a campaign, but said the visit was indeed a welcome parliamentary exercise aimed at reaching out to electorate at the grassroots.
Speaking to The Newswriter, the OYA Publicity Secretary, EkeneoreOwaji K. Moses onbehalf of the Organization who applauded the Senator for the visit and the assistance rendered to several indigenes of Obolo extraction, said even if the Senator may have desired to run for the number one seat of the state, the fact remains that he has not voiced it, even in his Ogoni Local Governments not to mention Andoni.
Moses, while affirming that Andoni is a stronghold for the senator’s success, said Senator Abe, did not disclose to the people on the said visit his intention to vie for the gubernatorial seat rather came to appreciate them for what he described as past victory occasioned on Andoni performances, and urged the public to ignore the insinuation.
OYA, image maker used the medium to call on all citizens of the state to recall the fact that, it is only the South-East Senatorial District in Rivers State that is yet to produce Governor of the state, saying it is high time they accepted anything short of the governorship position of Rivers.
According to him, contestants can come from any of the seven (7) LGAs of the state including: Andoni, adding that Andoni has contributed so much even in the present political dispensation aimed at developing the state.
Obolo Youth Ambassadors is calling on worthy sons and daughters of Obolo to file out to contest the 2015 gubernatorial seat of Rivers State, maintaining that OYA is ready to support any verified son or daughter of the soil who shall stand out for the top job in the state.
