Fakae Rebrands RSUST, Buries ASUU

PROF. FAKAE B.BThe Rivers State owned University of Science and Technology new status has been attributed to the managerial acumen of the institutions Vice chancellor, Prof. B.B. Fakae.

Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) ignored the on-going nationwide ASUU strike to run its academic programmes due to Prof. B.B. Fakae ingenuity.

Speaking to our correspondent penultimate week, Prof. B.B. Fakae disclosed that there is no ASUU in RSUST as the 12 members paraded on June 30th last year, adding that since there is no handover to any successive union body as election was not conducted, ASUU in RSUST is buried.

He pinpointed that Dr. Felix Igwe has no moral mandate to parade himself as ASUU chairman of RSUST legally, 30th June 2012, stressing that ASUU is being canvassed by only 12 ungrateful lecturers of the institute as the rest of the lecturers are going on with their normal teaching job without hitch.

He further disclosed as why RSUST is not on strike while other nation’s universities are on strike, he stated that the school management together with the academic staff of RSUST have agreed that strike will never be the last means of solving problem in the institution hence it makes the institution to strive on a smooth academic path of glory.

Clearing an alleged sack of some lecturers in RSUST, he said the lecturers on their own tendered their resignation letters, stating that they cease to be lecturers of the institution.

He concluded by disclosing that RSUST is back on track as some of the courses have been accredited by the National University Commission for regular academic session hinting that ICT in RSUST is one of the best in the country.

Appealing to well meaning Rivers people to come on board with him to make RSUST the best University in Nigerian. ###
