Officials of the Rivers State Road Traffic Management Authority, TIMARIV, have predicted the extinction of the agency in the coming weeks.
The officials of the agency who predicted this doom on the agency decried the administrative recklessness and highhandedness of the Acting Controller General, ACG, Mr. Confidence Eke in the day to day running of the agency and subsequent subjection of officials and staff to an untold hunger.
Some of the aggrieved officials of the agency who confided in The Newswriter have revealed how TIMARIV authority now operates side by side the state ministries, where officers’ salaries were short paid like the State Civil Servants.
A dependable source in the hierarchy of the State Road Traffic Management Authority, also disclosed that more than ten (10) percent of officers’ salaries were cut in the September pay under the labeled name, “general cut” without explanations on the reasons it was meant for.
The officers explained that majority of those earning Forty Five Thousand naira (N45,000.00) as monthly salaries were paid N32,000.00 each respectively.
According to The Newswriter’s source, the report has been registered to the Government House over the alleged administrative and financial recklessness while privileged citizens are now enjoying reading the dirty linen of the agency on the website and internet.
On investigating the activities of the agency by the Government House occupants, The Newswriter’s source revealed that payment of salaries may no longer passed through the AGM’s office to allow for fair treatment of officials who sleeps and kiss the sun on daily basis.
To crown the development in the agency some top ranking officers have confided in their boys within the agency to commence search for an alternative means of livelihood, since according to the source, TIMARIV has lost its value and may go into extinction soon.
Meanwhile, the source which wondered the rationale behind such deductions and characterized it as unholy, barbaric and uncivilized has called on the State Government to urgently step up action against the leadership of the agency aimed at curbing the developing menace of corruption.
Certain top ranking officials as well as others have reportedly vowed to ensure that the highhandedness of the ACG is brought under control or make the agency ungovernable for him in the nearest days, it was gathered.
