Rivers People Applauded Kogi First Lady…As Igala Community In Rivers Pays Special Visits on her

The just concluded funeral service of the mother of the first lady, Mrs. Patience Goodluck Jonathan, Late Mrs. Charity Fynface Oba has been described by most Rivers people as a basement to give kudos to most governors’ wives whose attendance in the burial ceremony were recorded as prompt and interesting.

In a chat with journalists at the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt, the president of the Rivers New Generation. Comrade Japhath Iyeke said, Her Excellency, Hajiya Halima Idris Wada, the wife of the executive governor of Kogi state was the First Lady to arrived Port Harcourt five days before the funeral ceremony out of the 36 states governors wives that were expected to arrive Port Harcourt on time adding that Her Excellency Halima Wada’s name would be written on gold hence her appearance has attracted a lot of accolades by the Okrika people chiefs and Rivers people, at large.

Prior to the arrival of the Kogi State first lady, the Igala people under the aegis of the Kogi’s Peoples Assembly had consistently stormed the Hotel Presidential in order to give their first lady a resounding welcome but the security operatives at the Hotel could not allow them, but on the day of her departure the security men who had witnessed their seriousness were informed that the Kogi people in Rivers State were the only non indigenous in Rivers State that had come to welcome their first lady and should be allowed to express their happiness, thereafter the leaders of the team, Comrade Benjamin Oguchi was invited and mandated to lead his people to welcome their first lady, Halima Idris Wada.

Receiving the members of the Kogi People Assembly the first lady of Kogi State Her, Excellency Halima Idris Wada who expressed her gratitude to her people in Rivers State and advised them to be law abiding citizens as well as be a good ambassador of Kogi people in the state.

At her departure the wife of the Borno State Governor who witnesses the reception given to her counterpart expressed her happiness in a manner captured the attention of all the security men at the venue.

Other governors wives who witnessed the reception accorded her by her people were astonished.

Among the personalities that welcome the Kogi State first lady were the President of Igala Niger Delta Community, organizer of the Miss Igala Niger Delta, Comrade Itu Abasi, President Nigeria Unity Movement and international spokesman of the International Association of the World Peace Advocates, Ambassador Emmanuel Nkweke who disclosed to the Kogi Peoples Assembly that their governor will be conferred with the 2012/2013 man of the year peace-thinkers award an event set to mar the united National Day for the elimination of violence against women billed for Nov 19th, 2013 at Lokoja added that Her Excellency Halima Wada is invited to present an opening speech as a lady with track record in team of women empowerment and Millennium Development Goals.

Ambassador Nkweke further disclosed that the performance of the Kogi State first lady was beginning to attract international accolades hence the hosting of the United Nation International programme in her state was a reflection of her activities in women development. ###
