Tackling Poverty In Nigeria

Without any doubt poverty increases in Nigeria on daily basis. It is difficult for an average citizen to afford three (3) square meals. The economy is so hard that the rate of unemployment is going higher and higher.

Those who reside in the rural communities are living in abject poverty due to absence of facilities that will up lift their standard of living.

The essence of government is to put certain developmental measures in place that would enable the citizenries to smile.

It is annoying to state here categorically that the government at all levels do not perform well as regards to the economic well being of the masses.

We condemn a situation, where people in government would divert funds meant for the development of the various communities in the country. Such attitude shows that public office holders do not have the interest of the public at heart.

While majority of Nigerians are moaning and groaning under economic hardship, our political leaders are living in mansions and driving latest cars in town. What a shame!

The time has come for government both at Local, State and Federal levels to initiate programmes that would better the lives of the masses. Nigerians are suffering; let Government do something about the dwindling economic situation in the country. ####
