Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Somieari Isaac Harry has threatened to drag the Managing Editor of The Newswriter, Damiete West to court for what he calls, “Libelous Publication”.
In a letter captioned, “Libelous Publication On Our Client,” dated October 23, 2013, the Permanent Secretary through his counsel, Ipalibo Karibi-Botoye Esq has vowed to issue a writ of summon if the Managing Editor and the Publishers of The Newswriter fail to refute a news item published in the October 17 13 edition pages 1 & 3 of The Newswriter.
In the said publication, it was alleged that the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Isaac Harry was eyeing the vacant seat of the Degema Constituency in the Rivers House of Assembly.
Dr. Isaac Harry was mentioned as one of the thirteen aspirants that have interest in the said vacant seat following the death of Rt. Hon. Tonye Harry.
