The Public Relation Officer of Rivers State Baseball/Softball, Mrs. Vicky Sodipo has appealed to youths and corporate bodies to embrace the game of Baseball/Softball as a sport in the sports fraternity. Mr. Sodipo made this appeal while speaking to sports journalists at the finalis of the Rivers State hosted National Baseball/Softball 2013 league at Isaac Boro Park doing the week. She said she was impressed with the youths attitude to willingly learn the sport, therefore always making themselves available for training, adding that their determination to learn the sport is a source of encouragement. According to her, it really wonderful for the youths to achieve much with such a short time. That is because they are determined to come for train so early on daily basis. The league had also produced two national and international players courtesy of scouts coming out to scout for talent in the sport. She revealed that American scouts are always out to scout for talent for international exposure, stating that there are much financial prospect for players of the game. She urged the youths to make out time to study and learn the sport rather than seating on the fence as many African countries are seriously embracing the sport. She added that Baseball/softball have much financial reward than football hence she urged the government and the youth to support the sports to grow in Nigeria. Particularly to the companies, individuals and corporate bodies to sponsor and encourage the sport to grow in the country as there are much financial reward in Baseball/softball than football. ###
