Gov. Amaechi rejected …To Vacate Office Next 30 Days

As the political crisis deepens, the people of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area have passed a vote of no confidence on the Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, for what they call “none performance and waste of public funds.

This was disclosed by the former deputy speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Austin Adiele Opara while speaking at the inauguration of wards, local and units officers of the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) in Port Harcourt at the weekend.

The ex-federal parliamentarian who is also the political leader of PHALGA decried the poor level of development in the LGA, described the Amaechi’s administration as “unsatisfactory and colosal waste”.

Rt. Hon. Opara alleged that all the roads in the Diobu axis of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State are bad and dilapidated.

His words, “ The people of Port Harcourt are not satisfied with the administration of Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi. All the roads are bad in PHALGA. The PHALGA people have rejected the Governor.”

The ex-deputy speaker of the lower chamber of the National Assembly lampooned the embattled governor of not respecting constituted traditional chieftaincy institution.

Also speaking at the event, the chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro. Felix Obuah told the cross section of the members of GDI that six commissioners in Gov. Amaechi’s cabinet have decided to dump the governor and would declare for GDI in its next inauguration.

Obuah who did not give the names of the commissioners, called on the Rivers people to support President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

Our investigation revealed that two (2) out of the six (6) commissioners, who have already “dumped” Governor Amaechi are from the riverrine area while four (4) hail from the upland axis of the state.

Meanwhile, in his speech, an elder statesman, Prince Emma Anyanwu has predicted that Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s tenure would expired in the next 30 days. Prince Anyanwu who regretted the snail speed development in the state, expressed optimism that in no distant time the Rivers people would be liberated from slavery.###
