Who Is Afraid Of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan?

PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHANAllah Seriki! Jiya Magana, Yau Magana, Gobe Magana! Alayi! Ina Abuja, Magana, Ina Kaduna Magana, Magana President, Magana Zone-fa Banaso Magana ni! Dan Allah! Wetin? What is it? Can any mortal fight God? The Answer is a big NO in the upper case. Then why the ranting of an ant?

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is an Institution that has come to stay. He is a dream come true. He is an answer to the prayers of Nigerians. The ways of God are different from those of men. Men can zone the presidency to the north but if that disrupts the divine agenda of God he will zone to the contrary and any noise anybody makes will be like pouring water behind a duck. That is the truth.

It is true that Olusegun Obasanjo from Egbaland in Ogun State of Western Nigeria is a Southerner and he ruled for eight unwritten years. It is true that perhaps to balance the equation, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was imposed on PDP and by extension, Nigeria.

That arrangement did not augur well with God. So things happened the way they happened to pave way for a divine ordering of things.

You may wish to know that President Goodluck Jonathan never thought of becoming the Vice President of Nigeria let alone the president. I was always in Bayelsa State in 2006 on official duties and I know that Jonathan was seriously preparing to run a second tenure which he would have won on popular demand.

I was there in Yenagoa that day, when Goodluck Jonathan’s name was announced as the running mate of Late Yar’Adua.

I saw men, women, children, the good, the bad and the ugly including madmen and women of Bayelsa State dancing round the Coastal City of Yenagoa, the capital of the State named The Glory of All Lands expressing uninduced, unsolicited and unbribed joy.

True, Goodluck Jonathan never bribed any of them to jubilate. They did it out of their love for him; a man of unassuming character.

When Jonathan became the Vice President of Nigeria, he was very loyal to his boss even though he posses a Ph.D which his boss did not possess. Jonathan was a different specie of Vice President, the one that was not antagonistic and who did not express nor imply any iota of insubordination. He was not like Atiku Abubakar who was always in an arrogant disagreement with his boss. Goodluck Jonathan is a man of humility. He never envisioned that his boss would be ill and even when his boss took ill, he never took joy in it nor did he pray for his boss’s down fall.

Goodluck Jonathan suffered humiliation from a formed cabal of his boss led by their Kakaaki (Mr. Michael Aondoakaa), the then Attorney General of the Federation, yet he chose to close his mouth waiting for the will of God.

So Nigerians came in to defend him from the Venom of humiliation and in the end a doctrine of necessity rayed hope on his way.

Finally and unfortunately his beloved boss died and by the laws of the land, Goodluck Jonathan became the President of Nigeria. By this series of acts, Goodluck Jonathan became the first Vice President of Nigeria to metamorphose into a President, the first Niger Deltan to become the President of Nigeria, the first South-South son to become the President of Nigeria, the first Ijaw man to become the President of Nigeria and the first Ph.D holder to become the President of Nigeria. This suggests that Goodluck Jonathan is a great man of history. Imagine that he also marked Nigeria’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary as the President. What a great man! What a great luck bestowed on him by divine grace! There is no gainsaying that power comes from God.

It is good to note that Jonathan never fought nor struggled to become what today he has been. His history and pedigree are replete that he is not a man that struggles to rise. His steady elevations have always been by divine intervention. We know those who have struggled, campaigned, persisted and done all sorts of things to become President of Nigeria and have failed. Atiku is one of them. History has it that he started nursing the ambition to become President since the late 1980s, yet to this day he is still fighting tooth and nail, including fighting his boss, fighting even Jonathan and fighting everybody, moving from party to party, forming one party or the other just to realize that ambition. To me, and with the help of hindsight, one can truly say no body who has over ambition has ever won the Presidency in this country. So, the battle is not for the swift nor for the mighty but for he who God showeth mercy or showeth Goodluck, that is all. All this Kaza, Kaza will take them to nowhere. Gaskiya.
