Information reaching our political desk had disclosed that the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo has joined the membership of the newly registered All Progressive Congress (APC).
Asari was said to have been sighted at a meeting of APC held in one the Western States. The Newswriter gathered that the ex-war lord in the Niger Delta geo-political region has been tipped to eye the Brick House in the 2015.
All efforts to contact Alhaji Asari Dokubo to comment on his affliation with the APC proved abortive.
When one of his personal aides who pleaded for anonymity was contacted, he said the leader of the Niger Delta People Volunteer Force (NDPVF) has not made up his mind to join any of the registered political parties.
According to the aides, Asari Dokubo has only declared his support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s second tenure bid. “As far as I am concerned, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria allows freedom of association. Therefore Asari Dokubo has the right to join any political party or association. But he is yet to tell us his mind, whether he is joining APC or not” the political aides concluded. ###
