Stakeholders in Sports have called on the various supporters clubs in Nigeria to seek for fund to support their various darling football clubs in the country, rather than begging for funds from the same source that is funding the club for their outside match journeys.
This call was made by the Public Relation Officer of Rivers State Sports Council, Barisi Wifa while in a chat with The Newswriter sports over the weekend at Isaac Boro Park, venue for the ongoing Rivers State first garden city baseball/softball competition.
He also condemned the attitude of some of the supporters club members who have made it their tradition to beg money from fans who come to watch matches at the stadium.
According to him, that attitude has made him to stop watching the Nigeria Glo sponsored Professional Football League matches across the country.
He lamented that sometimes he will go to the stadium with two thousand naira (N2,000) by the time the match is over the two thousand naira has gone, saying that he does not find it funny parting with his hard earned money in that manner.###
