Rivers State governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Rivers State House of Assembly and the entire citizenry of the state have been admonished to receive the ark of God in government house, Assembly and their private homes to usher in the needed peace in the state.
The Anglican bishop of Idah Diocese, Rt. Revd. Joseph N. Musa gave the admonition recently in Port Harcourt, while speaking as guest preacher during the just concluded 2013 Diocesan Sunday school conference of the Diocese of Niger Delta held at the St. Peters Anglican Church 50 Hospital Road, Port Harcourt.
Bishop Musa who maintained that Rivers State government needs the Ark of God to ensure peace and normalcy in the state said that the current crisis is inevitable because it tends to demonstrate who owns the land.
The Rt. Revd. Musa, posited that except Rivers State government embraces Jesus Christ whom he described as the Ark of the New Covenant, the state would be far from peace and prophesied that the conference will correct the error done in Rivers State if the occupants of government house, members of House of Assembly and the entire citizenry truly accept Jesus Christ.
The guest preacher and Lord Bishop of Idah Diocese was speaking on the topic “Blessing of His presence” as the sub theme of the conference with texts from 2Sam. 6, Prov. 10:22, Exd. 33:12-16 etc.
According to the preacher the physical Ark has ended while the spiritual Ark lives in those that accepted him as Lord and Saviour, saying that whoever accepts him is the temple of God “the Ark”, which added no sorrow, but blessing because such people are God’s carriers.
He stressed that, until one conquers the Ark there will be no rest and admonished those that have lost focus and sight of God to return to Him (God), saying that God’s presence is a necessity for all to conquer, as one’s place of birth does not matter in Christianity but how born again one that matters.
The preacher while harping on prayers as one of the steps to maintaining the presence of God in ones life, enjoined all never to give up but pray always as a man of faith is a man of champion, said, the Northern wind breeds trouble, but the Southern wind proffers solution to problem”.
Meanwhile, the host and bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese Rt. Revd Ralph Cornelius Ebirien, JP has lauded the guest preacher for accepting the invitation to be in Rivers State and the offering of Jesus Christ to the people of Rivers State.
Bishop Ebirien, however said that after due consultation, Sunday school will be holding in between divine service proper in every second week of each month beginning from second week of October, 2013.
In a similar development, Rt. Revd. Ralph Cornelius Ebirien has called on the church and entire people of Ataba community to move out of their old positions and life styles and embrace Jesus Christ, noting that as leaders of the community they need to forgive each other and embrace peace.
Bishop Ebirien was speaking on the topic, “examine your life if there is new change” with text taken from IICorn. 5:17 during the Episcopal tour to St. James Anglican church Ataba parish Penultimate Sunday.
He enjoined Christians to always profess Christ in their lives, especially in their places of work and business, appealing to parents to stop sponsoring their children and wards in examination malpractices as the schools re-opens for new academic session, while urging them to guide children in the way of righteousness.
The two day episcopal visit of the bishop featured foundation laying of the yet to be Christened New Anglican church at Ayama Ataba, confirmation of 8 candidates, induction and admission of 4 men, 6 women into men Christian Association and women Guild respectively.###
