Andoni, Opobo/Nkoro Economic Development Zone Foundation has awarded Post Graduate Scholarships to ten persons from Andoni, Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency to enable them further their studies in some of the best Universities in the United Kingdom.
Speaking at an awards/send forth ceremony in Port Harcourt, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, initiator of the scholarship said the scholarship award is to address the human development need of the Constituency.
Hon Peterside said that there is therefore the need to give the people of the constituency equal opportunity to compete with others in terms of employment and advancement in career.
Earlier in his address, Engr. Emiyarei Ikuru, the Chairman, Andoni Opobo/Nkoro Economic Zone Development Foundation, said that the scholarship awards are in fulfilment of one of the resolutions of the economic summit and charged the awardees to be good ambassadors of the constituency and the State.
Hon. Asita O. Asita, the leader, Rivers Caucus in Federal House of Representative said that the giant strides of Hon. Peterside are worthy of emulation and advised the awardees to live an exemplary life and be very studious.
The Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Wari Senibo Maclean Bethel Uranta in his vote of thanks commended the efforts of Hon. Peterside.
Wari Senibo Uranta called on the awardees to be prayerful and focused.
