The chairman of AkukuToru Local Government Area Mr. Theodore Georgewill has declared total and unflinching support of his administration and the entire people of Akuku-toru local Government Area, for the Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors forum (NGF) Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. The council boss made this declaration during the formal inauguration and sensitization of the Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF), Akuku Toru Local government Area chapter at the Council Secretariat in Abonnema.
He also announced that it is only persons that are in support of his administration and that of the state government will benefit from the empowerment initiatives. Earlier in his address the national president of the Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF), Hon. Alex Wele informed the people of Akuku Toru that no amount of intimidation will stop Governor Amaechi from losing focus in his desire to render a positive, purposeful and accountable leadership to the people of the state, adding that, governor Amaechi was well prepared for leadership before he became a governor.
Hon Wele urged the executive members of the Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF) Akuku Toru chapter and the members of the advisory committee to take their assignments seriously, by ensuring that their presence is felt in all the nooks and crannies’ of the Local Government. He told them to also inaugurate the ward executives of the body in the local Government Areas. Hon Wele stated that a state rally of the foundation will take place in October, where all the 23 Local government Area in the state will be fully represented.
High point of the occasion is the administration of oath of allegiance to the executive members of the Local government chapter led by the Chairman Tam Alalibo and the presentation of members of the advisory committee led by the Chairman Tubotamuno Dabiri to the people.
Solidarity speeches were made by Mr. Desire Bobmanuel, Special Assistant to the State Governor on Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) and Pastor lbimina Dagogo Jack Special Assistant to the Governor on Empowerment.
