One of Rivers State frontline politicians, philanthropist and illustrious son of the state, Sir Celestine NgozichiM Omehia will be Fifty Four Years on Sunday the 15th of September, 2013.
The Rivers Councilors’ Forum {Omehia supporters} heartily congratulates him as he clocks 54 years.
According to the Chairman of the Forum Hon. Sunny William, the former Governor has remained an “amiable, dynamic and trusted leader all this while”.
Speaking in the same vein, the secretary of the Forum, Hon. Gbarato Emmanuel .B. prayed that “may the good Lord continue to bless and guide the unique, dynamic leader that has positively touched the lives of so many people especially the downtrodden in Rivers State:in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
A patron of the Forum, Hon Precious B. Barido pledged that the Rivers Councilór’s Forum {Omehia Supporters}will continue to give unalloyed support to former Governor Celestine Omehia come rain come sunshine.
Sunny William also added, “we are proud of you, congrats Our beloved Sir, His Excellency Omehia, we wish you the very best, May good Lord Grant you long life and more years to come.
We the Rivers Councilors Forum {Omehia Supporters} in bringing succor to the people of Rivers State in particular and Nigeria at large are testimonies to your life style and the people oriented programmes especially your ability in the restoration of peace and good leadership in Rivers State”.
According to Sunny William, the Chairman of Rivers Councilors Forum {Omehia Supporters}“we can not conclude our message without speaking on your leadership, your Excellency Sir Celestine Omehia leadership and life style, we are proud to associate with you”.
Moreover, Omehia has served the Government and people of Rivers State in particular and Nigeria in general in the following capacity:
He was Executive Assistant (Administration and Interreligious matters) to the Executive Government of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, from 2003 till recently, Special Assistant (Legal & Administrative Matters) to the Executive Governor of Rivers State from 2000-2003; Chairman, solid Minerals Committee, Rivers State from 2001-2004; member, Justice .,of peace (JP) of Nigeria; Member, Rivers State Community Development Blue Print and Member, Project Monitoring Sub-Committee of the Advisory Committee of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
In 2007, he was chosen as a consensus candidate to fly the gubernatorial flag of Africa’s, most populous party in Rivers State. Consequently, on April 14th 2007, Sir Celestine Omehia was elected Governor of Rivers State and subsequently sworn- in on May 29th 2007 as the 4th democratically elected Governor of the State. On October 25th 2007, he was removed from office via a Supreme Court judgment.
As a devout Christian, Sir Omehia is married to his loving wife, Tonia and has three (3) lovely children Keturah, Kelechi and Kechikanma.
