RIVLEAF Is not For Drops Out- Wele

The National President of Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF) Hon. Alex Wele said the socio-political organization is a well thought body trained in leadership position and not for secondary drop-out.

Hon. Wele made the statement at the inauguration and sensitization at council headquarters of Degema LGA last the weekend.

He told the people of Degema that members of RIVLEAF were former student’s leaders in their days at the University holding different positions such as president of Rivers State student Union (NURSS), Student Union Government (SUG) including of NANS ethnic student union.

The president said the clarification became necessary now as several bodies are springing up because of politics and whose leadership are drop-out persons from either the University or secondary school saying the case of the Grassroot Development Initiative, Mr. Bright Amehule is one of such.

He advised Rivers people to follow the path of truth, honestly and wisdom because politics is not based on falsehood.

Earlier, the chairman of the occasion Hon. (Dr.) Sekonte Davies who is also member Federal House of Representatives told the people of Degema LGA to be steadfast and be weary of political liars going about deceiving people.

The house of Representative member state that Gov. Amaechi has done much to transform the state and that his project speaks for itself.

He said Gov. Amaechi and the president Goodluck Jonathan are not in disunity except on issues of conflict of oil well and lack of Federal Government projects in the state.

In his solidarity speech Hon. Dr. Ipalibo Harry who is the commissioner for Employment and Youth Development in the state task Degema people to be more united now than ever. He said justice and development is very important hence the Degema people will continue to support the governor at all times.

The LGA Boss, Hon. Ibigoni Daddy Pokima assured RIVLEAF that they will continue to throw their weight behind Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi’s administration.

The chairman asked those who are fanning disunity between the Presidency and the Governor of Rivers State that they should remember how Rivers State gave 2 million votes to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan during the last election. The foundation chairman, Mr. Opakirite Efrebo in his acceptance speech promised to work diligently.

Others who made contributions were Hon. Mrs. Vivian Braide, S.S.A to the Governor and project Director on New RSUST, commissioner for Chieftaincy and community affairs, Rivers State Hon. Okaye Charles Hon. Iboroma Harry, S. A to the governor and the former LGA chairman Hon. Akonte Davies.

In another development the people of Abonnema LGA has been asked to be united and remain committed to the programmes and policies of the Rivers State governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi. The president of RIVLEAF Hon. Alex Wele gave the charge while inaugurating the Abonnema chapter of the body.

The LGA boss Hon. Theodore S. Gergewill has earlier thanked RIVLEAF for the inauguration and sensitization of it members in the area.

The RIVLEAF foundation chairman of Abonnma LGA, Mr. Junior Tam Alalibo, have accepted to work with his team for the programme of the body. ##
