Amaechi, A Nationalist And Not A Failure – PDP

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says it is miffed at a recent statement credited to Mr. Jerry Needam who claimed to have spoken for Felix Obuah in which Governor Chibuike Amaechi was termed “a failure.” In the fallacious, childish and poorly constructed gutter-snipe of a release, Needam engaged in yet another futile attempt to rob mud on distinguished Rivers State citizens, the PDP statement signed by George Ukwuoma-Nwogba said.

Ukwuoma-Nwogba said that “Ignoring Jerry Needam would have been the best thing but for our great party faithful and lovers of the best performing Governor of our time, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, it becomes necessary to state the obvious. Jerry and his paymasters are the real party killers and destroyers of democracy in the state and in Nigeria. This belligerent attitude of his and his paymaster carried over from the former Action Congress of Nigeria has manifested in the way they have carried the activities of the party in the last few months.”

The statement continued:” We are shocked that Needam does not understand the meaning of failure, for was he current on the developments in the English lexicon, it would have been deliberately mischievous of him to describe his betters in all facets of life as failure and nondescript. In his past and current attempts to maintain his pay and new status as he now roams town under armed military escort, Needam engages in all sort of pig-wash to please those who bankroll his publications and press releases. Needam who professes sainthood and pontificates frugality once served Rivers State as secretary of a body that was mandated to rehabilitate militants. The public knows who ended up being rehabilitated with millions of Naira of taxpayers’ money. Rivers people are still waiting on Needam to render the account of his stewardship.”

Speaking further, Ukwuoma-Nwogba who is the elected State Publicity Secretary of the ruling party in Rivers, commended Senators Magnus Ngei Abe, Wilson Asinobi Ake, Representative Dakuku Peterside for taking a bold stand in the face of tyranny and oppression where as others like Needam and his sponsors have found false refuge under questionable and morally-bankrupt political sugar mummies and daddies.

“Why are Needam and his sponsors now looking for shelter when they are guilty of master-minding the crisis that has engulfed PDP?”, the PDP Publicity Secretary asked, adding that the faction being expressed today at the national level started with Jerry’s masters in Rivers State. “All appeal by well-meaning Rivers people and other Nigerians to Emperor Needam and his kingdom of loafers to treat democracy with respect was snubbed. Like drunks on circuit course, Needam and his masters, urged by blind ambition, moved from one suspension to another, achieving nothing but more divisions in the party.

“He that lives in a glass house should not throw stone. We are confident that our party will come out stronger by the end of the day, and Needam. Who is not a member of PDP, would have been banished to the island of opprobrium.”
