Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi has said that he will certainly give Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo his 100 caps line up against all speculations, that the big boss has refused to make Yobo earn his 100 caps appearance in the national team.
According to Keshi, Yobo is not that player that will be invited and will be on the bench, pointing out that he will not do that to Yobo. “I know how I felt in USA 94 world cup when I was injured and I was at the bench while Chidi Wanu was playing, I cannot do that to Yobo I have a plan for him. I will definitely give him his 100 caps as he wants but for now let me concentrate on the younger players.
Nigerians gave me an assignment, I don’t want to be sentimental in my selection, there is no way Yobo is fit and will be conditioned to the bench when the younger players are playing. Yobo is far much bigger than that, I will have to respect him, qualifying Nigeria in the world cup is what I am concentrating on Yobo is my captain and I respect him.
Against all speculations, the man who is the midst of the speculation has voiced out that he has plans for Yobo and could not disrespect his captain, adding as a captain of the 94 USA Super Eagles he felt terrible bad being conditioned to the bench, while Chidi Nwanu was plying because he was nursing injury.
This coach Keshi, said Yobo is a good player, he like him he has done well in serving his fatherland and I am ready to give him his 100 caps appearance in the Super Eagles in the Super Eagles.
Only time will prove Keshi right or wrong, now that he has public stated that he will give Yobo his 100 caps appearance in the Super Eagles, if at the end of the day Keshi fails in his promise, Nigerians who have called for Yobo’s 100 caps appearance will not forgive Keshi. ####
