The Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area, Mr. Ojukaye Flag Amachree has described the establishment of the Buguma Fish Farm by the Rivers State Government as a source of employment to youths of the Kalabari Kingdom.
Mr. Amachree stated this while addressing newsmen in his office recently.
He noted that steady power supply in the LGA has improved small scale business in the area and adviced the people to make use of this opportunity to better their lives. “In fulfilment of my electioneering campaign promise, the council was saddled with the responsibility of footing the electric bills of each household in the area to ease the financial burden of his people”, Amachree stated.
The Council Boss said that street trading in Buguma has become a thing of the past following the establishment of an ultra modern market with over 200 stores and adviced those that have not moved to the market to do so. Mr. Flag Amachree said his administration’s resolve to undertake the land reclamation project at the Greater Buguma Site is to forestall the anticipated land shortage at Buguma.
