For example, E.W Barnes relates of the possible and expected attitude of a follower of Yahoshea in his book called “THE RISE OF CHRISTIANITY” as thus, “IN its early authoritative documents, the savour’s followers as a movement is represented as essentially moral and law-abiding.
Its citizens desired to be law abiding and loyal subjects. They shunned the failings and vices of paganism. In private life, they sought to be peaceful neighbours and trustworthy friends.
They were taught to be industrious and clean living. Amid prevailing corruption and uncentrousness they were, found loyal to their principles, honest and trustworthy. Their sexual standards were high, the marriage ties was respected and family life was pure”.
To that esteemed scholar, those were basic qualities of the early followers of Yahoshea. But to men at spiritual inner cycle, those points enumerated were mainly daily moral codes that existed amongst all religious groups. The terms there- in as “essentially moral and law abiding” was not properly defined.
The only term that captures the interest of a true seeker of Yahoshean’s assembly in that quotation as “They shunned the failings and vices of paganism”. This is hard truth because Yahoshea’s main occupation on earth was to fight against paganisms and destroy its vestage. He came as the needed truth to entire mankind in term of religion. So the religious group that take over from him can never be a gathering arena for pagan practices and conducts.
Many religions of various colourations have found favour in one or more aspects of Yahoshea’s character and samely hold fast to such conviction. Too many conducts of Yahoshea or those taught to his followers were subordinatory to his true mission and value in life.
Today millions of people assert to follow Yahoshea through demonstration of miracles, signs and wonders. To such people, that was the main occupation of Yahoshea Meshiyach while on earth therefore a sect that will live after him must be identified by miracle galores and exhibitions.
Others claim that he commissioned his disciples to go out and speak everywhere and to everyone to make disciples of people of all nations.
Some others see financial breakthrough, bodily healings, economic fortunes and improvements in general welfare in life as feasible demonstration of Yahoshea in action, therefore his followers are to chase after such feats.
The hard truth is that all these mentioned above and many other life juices as found in Yahoshea’s ministry were subbordinatory to his true set priority in life. The most important issue to a believers is to know the truth and stand by them for such is the life and way that Yahoshea brought to mankind.
For instance, if a believer possess the spirit of evangelism and he know not the necessary truths, he will end up feeding people with falsehood that is to afflict them the more.
Some believers claim that they are witnessing for Jehovah and are seriously seen in all cities and localities in the world. Although they have responded to the call by Yahoshea for disciples to go and reach out to men of the world but they are teaching heresies to the people. Then of what value is their toils of daily witness and evangelism.
You must witness the truth alone and not falsehood if not you will end up as a false witness which is forbidden by laws of Yahweh.
Again Christians often celebrates pagan festivals in opposite to the principle set by Yahoshea Meshiyach and adopted by his disciples.
For example, Yahoshea and his disciples celebrated his last Passover feast on 13th Abib (April). This feast is slated to be observed on 13th evening of Abib and run down to 20th day of Abib (April). Since the feast takes off on 13th evening, it might equally be seen as 14th day of Abib as some quarters claim. Because the feast runs from 13th evening to 14th day of Abib as held in Hebrew faith.
The Christianity that claim to live after him has firmly rejected the Passover feast and replaced it with Easter festival. While the Passover is the pronunciation of Yahweh unto his chosen people. Easter is a pagan festival by the Saxons and Babylonians that were carried over into Roman pagan worship.
Yahoshea took the Passover feast with his disciples and adviced them to commemorate the festival as for his memorial. His immediate disciples followed the step laid by Yahoshea and were observing the Passover on every 13th day of Abib (April).
During second century (After Yahoshea’s Death) some started changing the time of commemoration of the Passover and the manner in which it was been held.
The church resort to the observation of his resurrection on the following Sunday calling it RESSURECTION PASSOVER which metamorphosed into Easter Sunday festival.
Meanwhile, there ensued dispute between believers who stood for the observation of true Passover on 13th Abib against Roman doctrines faithfuls who favour resurrection day.
As the dispute ensued, a group known as Quartodecimans (Fourteenthers) arose to defend the Passover festival as well as Yahoshea death on 13th evening of Abib.
In second century (After Yahoshea’s Death) Essebus of Caesarea in his book, “Ecclesiastical History” relates that Polycrates of Ephesus sent a letter to Rome defending the observance of “the fourteenth day of the Passover according to the glad tiding, never deviating, but following according to the faith”.
Many Yahoshea’s followers in that century still believed that Passover was the laid path by Yahweh and practiced by Yahoshea Meshiyach whom they adopted as their master.
Christians saw Passover as Hebrew custom and need no observation, hence they began to persecute the Quartodecimans. (Passover faithfuls)
A historian Raniero Cantalamessa states “the decline of Melito (Bishop of Sardis in Lydia who supported 13th Abib Passover), which progressively led to the disappearance of his writings, began when after the triumph of the custom of the Sunday Easter, the Quartodecimans started to be considered heretics”.
Because of the conviction of Bishop Melito over the observation of actual Passover feast on its actual date as done by Yahoshea and his early faithfuls, the Roman Catholic church destroyed his writing works and made them to be amongst the lost books of Yahoshean faithfuls.
Can Christianity with such outlook be founded by the savour?
The Holy Originally Inspired Scriptures put questions as thus to the human family, – “Can anyone measure the ocean by ones hands? Or measure the sky with his hands? Can anyone gather the whole soil of the earth in his hands? Or weigh the mountains and hills by the scale?
Can anyone tell Yahweh what to do? Who can teach him or give him advice? With whom does Yahweh consult in order to know, understand and to learn how things will be done?
