Hon. Wobo Bags Award, Commends Chimbiko On RIVLEAF Inauguration.

Hon. Lucky Stanley Wobo, councilor representing ward 11 in the Port Harcourt City Local Government of Rivers State has been honoured with a Personality Award by Environmental Science Students Association of Rivers State University of Science and Technology as an Exemplary Leader and a Worthy philanthropist, in the city of Port Harcourt.

Speaking with The Newswriter on the reasons for his award, the House committee chairman on Environmental Sanitation and Secretary, Ethics and Privileges, said he had made a promise to his people through his manifesto during his electioneering campaign.

He added that the fulfillment of providing an empowerment support for 90 persons in his ward, which include: the provision of grant for 30 students to write NECO exam, provision of N20,000 each to 30 women and provision of fund for 30 persons to acquire various skills, as some of the possible reasons for the honour bestowed on him.

Hon. Wobo explained that his philanthropic gesture came as a shock to some people, as they wondered how he was able to hit the mark which he attributed to the overwhelming support of the Executive Chairman of PHALGA, Hon. Akarolo Chimbiko, and the council Legislative Assembly for their immense support to the fulfilling of his promise to his people. He further commended the council boss, Chimbiko for ensuring peace and stability among councilors in the council.

On the recent inauguration of Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation RIVLEAF to PHALGA, Wobo lauded the effort of the foundation president, Chief Alex Wele for bringing former student leaders in their old schools days together to advance leadership in the state.

If those inaugurated would be able to drive home the expected objectives of RIVLEAF in PHALGA, Wobo expressed the importance of given people responsibilities as done by the foundation to the Ward Excos, adding that the pioneer leader and founder of the foundation, Rt. Hon. Amaechi, who had distinguished himself in leadership is already a role model for the ward Excos to emulate.

Hon. Lucky however commended the level of turn-out at the event, which had the presence of former and present mayor of PHALGA, Chief Hon. Azubuike Nmerukini and Hon. Akarolo Chimbiko, Owene Wonodi, Hon. Victoria Nyeche, the leader and councilors of PHALGA, among others.

He further advised the Excos and youths of PHALGA to shun all forms of violence, pointing out that development cannot take place in an atmosphere of chaos and the need to support the able leadership of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi in the state, urging them to continue to observe and participate in monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the state for their good and that of others in the state. ###
