Okocha task Rivers people and the people of Ogu/Bolo to shun some illegal political groups whose stock in trade is to jeopardise the good legacy of our founding fathers especially the developmental strides of governor Amaechi.

He said such illegal groups includes the Grassroot Development Initiative GDI, whose concept is to destroy the legacies and good work done by governor Amaechi, saying the people have the right to reject such political groups whose mission is to cause confusion, acrimony and disunity.

The chief of staff warns the people against political thurgery and any act that may breakdown the existing peace in the state.

The chairman of the occasion Chief Jonah Tamuno, (JP) charged the youths to support the Amaechi’s administration and shun youth restiveness that will hinder the development in the area.

Chief Tamuno said youths are the future leaders of the state and they should engage in activities that will promote peaceful development.

In her remark, the chairperson of Ogu/Bolo LGA, Mrs. Maureen Tamuno used the occasion to invite Hon. Victor Ihunwo a member of Rivers State House of Assembly to come to Okrika and see what the governor had done.

Hon. Maureen Tamuno stated that governor Amaechi has done so much in Okrika in the area of education, health and appointment, that every reasonable person can see and feel while condemning detractors who are bent on destroying the good work done by the governor in the state.

She appreciated the leadership quality of RIVLEAF particularly in spreading the message on good leadership and not such empty campaign by groups like (GDI) Grassroot Development Initiative.

The president of RIVLEAF, Hon. Alex Wele in his speech has stated that the problem of the governor stems on justice and fairness as it relate to illegally acquiring Rivers oil well in Soku Rivers State.

He told the people that GDI is not working for the interest of the President as perceived by many. He asked “When did Nyesom start loving the president”. The president stated that when Nyesom Wike was in government House making billions of naira did he fight for Jonathan?

Hon. Wele maintained that as a Minister, Wike, suppose to drag projects to the state not to antagonize the governor. The S.A told the people that RIVLEAF support the ongoing reconciliation in PDP as this will lead to faster development.

Alex Wele has earlier inaugurated the Ogu/Bolo chapter. In his acceptance speech, the foundation chairman, Mr. Oforibika Ishmele promised to work diligently with others to move the organization forward. ##
