A prominent chief in Rivers State, HRH Chief Owabie Tobin, the Eze Onumini 1 of Port Harcourt city LGA has called on Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to call Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Felix Obuah, the chairman of PDP in Rivers State, and Hon. Evans Bipi, a lawmaker representing Ogu/Bolo Constituency in the State House of Assembly over their unnecessary claims and utterances against Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the governor of Rivers State.
Hon. Obuah and Barr. Wike in several occasions have claimed that they were the leaders of the party in the state instead of Gov. Amaechi who is the chief executive officer of Rivers State.
In a quick reaction to these utterances and unnecessary claims, Chief Owabie Tobin in a chat with The Newswriter condemned these claims describing it as uncalled for. He pointed out that such could create violence in the state, stressing that Bipi with the other four anti-Amaechi’s lawmakers have failed in their attempt to impeach the speaker, as it stipulated in the constitution that five lawmakers cannot impeach a speaker and besides the Senate is investigating the matter and their findings may not be far from the constitution that five lawmakers cannot impeach the speaker in a House of 32 members.
The royal father who reminded Hon. Bipi of his matter noted that he supposed to be in hiding by now than making unnecessary claims. Chief Tobin said Bipi should be advised to start thinking on how he will face prosecution for the offence, he committed, and called on president Goodluck Jonathan to call him, Obuah and Wike to order.
On the alleged attack of governor Amaechi by the presidency to remove him from office, the royal father said Amaechi has not done anything wrong to deserve such attack, stressing that governor Amaechi’s motive was to ensure that democracy is sustained. He urged President Jonathan and his wife to understand him and embrace him, cooperate with him as a brother since he (Jonathan) a Rivers man prior to the creation of Bayelsa state and his wife patience a daughter of Rivers State before he got married to him. The Royal father opined that his reconciliation with Amaechi will make his presidential ambition in 2015 election easier and assured President Jonathan of Rivers People’s support.
It would be recalled that Hon. Evans Bipi with other four Anti-Amaechi lawmakers who failed in their attempt to impeach the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Otelemaba Dan Amachree to pave for the impeachment of governor Amaechi, at a ceremony in honour of Barr. Nyesom Wike organized by the GDI at Rumuene Civic Centre Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State boasted that he is the authentic speaker of the State Assembly and that he was in position of the key of the Assembly.###
