The Rivers State Head of Service, Barr. Samuel LongJohn has directed the central organizing committee of the just concluded Rivers State civil service week to constitute a formidable football team from the best players from each ministry that featured for the Head of Service Football Cup Competition.
According to the Head of Service, only the best players from the competition should be selected to form the proposed civil servants football team, noting that when fully composed the team will stand the test of time in prosecuting all football competitions involving the Rivers State civil service against other state civil service teams.
He was quick to point out that Rivers State is blessed with talents even as civil servants players showed class as if they are paid professional footballers playing in the Nigeria GLO professional football league.
He showed his gratitude to God and all those who made the civil service week a success, praying for God abundant blessings to all and sundry.
Meanwhile the Rivers State Civil Service week under Barr. Samuel LongJohn was a huge success if not for the embarrassing incident that occurred on the finals of government House against the ministry of Special Duty where a player from Ministry of Special Duty was alleged to have broken the head of the centre referee.
It is also no news that 2013 Rivers State Head of Service games winner is government House football team while ministry of Special Duty was banned from participating in the games for 2 editions. ###
