HOS Games: Ministry Of Special Duties Banned For 2 Years

There was show of shame experience at the liberation stadium when Ministry of Special Duty filed against the Government House Football team in anticipation to end the Rivers State Civil Service week, inter ministerial football matches on the 16th of July.

Government House won the match with 4-1 in a penalty shoot out, leaving ministry of special duty football team protesting that government house fielded an illegible player in their squad. This the Ministry of Special Duty players protested violently in the most unruly manner, player of Ministry of Special Duty allegedly broke the head of one of the referees of that match.

In order to maintain law and order to sustain the Head of Service games, the organizing committee of the rivers State civil service week sports committee had slammed two years suspension on the ministry of Special Duty, meaning the Ministry of Special Duty will not partake for two years (2 editions of the Rivers State Head of Service games).

This is the first time the Head of Service Games is recording such unruly behaviour among the participating ministries. Since the Games inception, when former Head of Service, Mrs. Esther Anucha introduced the Special sports program to the Civil Service Week schedule.

On the whole, apart from the negative report about what happened at liberation stadium on the 16th of July, the programmes went on successful in all ramifications.

This year’s Rivers State Civil service week is one of the best ever organized since the inception of the programme. ###
