The Nigerian born wave making strikers in the English premiership, Shola Ameobi and Victor Anichebe return to play for the Supers Eagles has excited Nigerian soccer fans.
The duo are making their return to the super Eagles after a sensitive row with the handlers of the Super Eagles over players welfare packages.
The talented strikers have both played for England at the junior international level in England colours, which become somewhat of a problem for Nigeria to claim the duo to play for Nigeria in the Super Eagles squad, as to represent the country in an international competitions. Though the players have their biological root in Nigeria.
It took FIFA understanding to allow the duo of Ameobi and Anichebe to come to the fold of the Super Eagles. Both players have since played some matches with the Super Eagles in the country’s qualifiers before opting out of the Super Eagles squad. If not for the concerted efforts of well meaning Nigerians, the duo would not have their ways playing for the Super Eagles again.
Keshi the head coach of the Super Eagles too should be thanked for his persistent role in persuading the duo to play for the Super Eagles.
According to the information available to The Newswriter sports desk, coach Stephen Keshi has also penciled down the duo to feature for the Nigeria – Bafana Bafna friendly encounter alongside Obinna Nsofor, who also have since been abandoned to feature for the Super Eagles after Nigeria failed to qualified for the Nations cup of Africa under Coach Siasia
