IYM Blames Amaechi Detractors For Current Political Crisis

The Ikwerre Youth Movement (IYM) a socio-political organization in the state have blamed the current political crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Amaechi’s detractors.

The group drop the bombshell in a meeting over the weekend at the college of Arts and Science, Rumuola, Port Harcourt.

The meeting which comprises the IYM Ikwerre LGA have in attendance National and State House of Assembly members, Commissioner, LGA chairman, Political appointees, youths and the  women.

In his address the chief of staff government House Chief Hon. Tony Okocha said the Ikwerre Youth Movement (IYM) have help in the political landscape in Rivers State and promised that the body will continue to give their total support to the governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.

Hon. Okocha maintained that the Ikwerre people have benefited greatly under the leadership of the governor and they owe him support, prayers and commitment not distraction.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the meeting comrade Lucky Worlu said IYM have achieved a lot but considering what they are doing to their grand patron Rt. Hon. Amaechi it would have been difficult to gather to discuss but commended the Ikwerre people so much especially Obio/Akpor, PHALGA, Emohua because of the tremendous land given out for both educational development and security among others.

Comrade Worlu lamented that most time people fail to recognize the contribution of Ikwerre people to the development of Rivers State and call on the people to support the performing governor who has made Rivers State stand out in the committee of states.

On the achievement, it could be recalled that IYM have produced so many people either elected or appointed both at the National and at the state level.

Earlier, the leader of Ikwerre politics Hon. Andrew Uchendu stated that IYM 13 years of existence have achieve a lot and nobody can discredit that while urging Ikwerre people to stand by the governor at all times. ###
